I don’t care how rich you are, losing a home is rough.

The NBA made the move to postpone the Thursday contest between the Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte Hornets due to the raging wildfires that have destroyed more than 5,300 structures in Southern California, including the residence of Lakers head coach JJ Redick.

According to a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania, the rental home of Redick’s located in Pacific Palisades was destroyed in the largest of several fires that are now racing throughout Los Angeles and surrounding areas. Prior to Tuesday’s road game against the Dallas Mavericks, Redick said that his home was under threat and that his family had to be evacuated.

In other sad news in the NBA that relates to residences, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr lost his Palisades childhood home. The skipper stated Thursday that his 90-year-old mother, Ann, was evacuated from the area and is safe from the fires.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick lost his home as a result of the devastating wildfires spread across Los Angeles, per @ShamsCharania.

Prayers out to the Redick family and everybody else across LA that has been affected by the fires 🙏 pic.twitter.com/koo90TTPSw

I feel for JJ, this is definitely some tough stuff that I couldn’t imagine (I rather have the hurricanes here in Florida), but I can’t help but to wonder what exactly is going on over there in California…

People are lighting fires in otherwise non-burning urban areas of LA. Saw this happen first hand at 302 Pico in Santa Monica. Called it in & fire dept & police responded. Stay safe and call in any activity ASAP. We don’t need more flames out here. pic.twitter.com/AZ4GLr6N3q

I’m not going to get conspiratorial, don’t worry. I’m just … curious.
