The Lego PlayStation set’s final design has officially leaked, showcasing a pretty realistic console and some iconic Easter eggs hidden inside.
Back in March, a Lego PlayStation set with almost 2,000 pieces was leaked, with fans instantly eager to snap up the $159.99 build and replicate the iconic original console for themselves, especially when it was revealed that it would be coming with a free Astrobot set.
Well, the final design has been leaked, and it’s looking incredibly similar to the recent Xbox release, as both are jam-packed with easter eggs of the console’s biggest games.
New Lego PlayStation set comes with Ape Escape easter egg
As revealed by Brick Tap News on X, one Lego fan uncovered the upcoming Lego PlayStation in-store, showcasing its official design, complete with its pieces, price, and release date. We now know it’ll cost $160, release on October 1, and contain 1,911 pieces.
However, the key new feature is its Easter eggs, which all slot inside the console, just like the Xbox set. These include a little homage to Ape Escape and Gran Turismo, two iconic franchises many grew up playing on the original console.
The Ape Escape features the iconic main character, as well as an adorable watery and jungle scene, while the Gran Turismo features a tiny racetrack with little cars and a finishing line. Both have their logos showcased on the walls.
It’s also complete with an opening disc drive, memory card, and controller that you can create. Though it doesn’t come with a disc.
Notably, the Xbox set comes with similar features, only theirs includes Halo, Psychonauts, and The Elder Scrolls, and does come from Mattel instead of Lego themselves.
However, while Xbox has them beat on the number of easter eggs, the Sony PlayStation Lego set does come with that free Astrobot set, while stocks last.
