Joe Biden is in the homestretch of his presidency with just 50 days to go until Donald Trump is inaugurated. He is using the waning days to travel the world… and go back on a promise he repeatedly made to the American people.
On Sunday, the president announced he pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, despite previous pledges not to do so. The action will spare the first son a possible prison sentence for federal felony gun and tax convictions and also any additional prosecution for misdeeds spanning from January 1, 2014, through December 1, 2024.
“Let’s go through the timeline because the dates actually are important: The pardon dates back to January 2014 just before Hunter Biden joined the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma,” Megyn noted. “Now, why would you have to go back to all that stuff? Because Joe Biden is pardoning himself and not just his son. He wants to make sure that all of those alleged crimes – for which his Department of Justice already gave Hunter a pass – remain untouched.”
From the blatant bait and switch to the “infuriating” statement from the president to the media reaction, there are a number of angles to the story. On Monday’s show, Megyn was joined by National Review’s Charles C.W. Cooke and Rich Lowry to discuss all the facets of Biden’s decision and what it means.
Promises Not Kept
Megyn, Cooke, and Lowry break down how the president’s decision to pardon his son exposes his lies, the ways it undermines Biden’s integrity and the public’s trust in his administration, the absurd spin in his statement, and more.
Statement Making
Megyn called Biden’s statement “infuriating” and “galling” and took a closer look at the fine print to uncover the shocking details, the inordinate amount of time it covers, the hypocrisy it exposes, and more.
Media Malpractice
After years of claiming Biden respects and upholds the rule of law, the corporate media is being forced to reconcile the 82 year old’s about-face. Megyn and the guys analyze how the press is spinning the decision, their lack of credibility, and more.
