Drivers are being warned of several important vehicle recalls that could see their vehicles affected by serious issues, increasing their risk of being involved in an accident.
Some of the most popular car brands in the world have announced fresh recalls in the United States in recent weeks that could impact more than one million drivers.
GB News has rounded up the most important car recalls issued over recent weeks that motorists need to know about.
Chrysler
A staggering 844,000 vehicles under the Chrysler umbrella are being recalled by the United States' National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Documents state that the rearview camera image may fail to display when the vehicle is placed in reverse, obscuring the driver's view behind the vehicle.
A remedy has been made available for the recall and states that the radio software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge.
The recall affects 2026 models of the:

- Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Blue Oval will be recalling 148,663 Mustang models between production years 2024 and 2026 due to a wiring harness ground connection failure.
The engine compartment wiring harness ground connections may fracture and result in a loss of drive power, or a loss of function in the windshield washing system, headlights, air conditioning, or engine cooling fan.
In the event that this happens, vehicles would fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 108 (Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment) and 104 (Windshield Wiping and Washing Systems).
Mitsubishi
More than 67,000 2025-2026 Outlander and 2026 Outlander PHEV vehicles are being recalled in the United States due to improper software programming.
The Alliance In-Vehicle Infotainment (A-IVI) system may fail to display the rearview camera image when the vehicle is placed in reverse, increasing the risk of an accident.
The system error means the vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 111 (Rear Visibility).

The Japanese manufacturer is recalling 8,521 C-HR battery electric vehicles (2026) over a software programming error.
It warned that the issue could cause the electric drive system battery to become overcharged under certain driving conditions.
This can shut down the electric drive system and result in a loss of drive power, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.
