(LifeSiteNews) — Trans activists have launched another crusade against JK Rowling’s fictional world – this time, using AI.

Bizarre images are flooding social media that involve “transing” Hogwarts characters, including one in which an anime transgender Draco Malfoy violently kisses Harry Potter.

It began when the Japanese anime artist Yunayu posted a drawing of Draco Malfoy as a female on social media platform BlueSky. Malfoy is a male Hogwarts student in Rowling’s Harry Potter series who serves as Potter’s primary rival. Despite the “gender swap,” many BlueSky denizens were promptly infuriated, claiming that any “promotion” of Rowling’s creation was inherently transphobic. Meanwhile, some of Rowling’s fans were also angry, suspecting that the fanart was a shot at the author’s very public stance against the transgender agenda.

Yunayu apologized, deleted the drawing, but then reposted it to X, kicking off a social media trend of copycats. “The visuals are part of an online phenomenon known as Malfoid, a viral Harry Potter fan-art trend that reimagines Draco Malfoy as a female anime-style character, typically retaining his blonde hair, bratty personality, and rivalry with Harry,” Cybernews reported. “The term ‘Malfoid” combines Malfoy with ‘foid,’ an internet term derived from ‘femoid’ that is sometimes used derogatorily toward women.”

In case you’re wondering why even weird anime drawings can trigger such ire from trans activists, consider the allegations made last month by trans-identifying filmmaker Lilly Wachowski, who co-created and directed The Matrix films with his older brother, who also identifies as trans. Wachowski stated that supporting the Harry Potter franchise in any way constitutes tangibly supporting a “trans genocide.”

“She is funding trans genocide,” Wachowski told Variety. “JK Rowling funds trans genocide, full stop. So, if you support ‘Harry Potter,’ you’re supporting trans genocide. The money that goes into you enjoying these products, a portion of that money goes to JK Rowling and that money goes into her funding anti-trans legislation all over the world.”

According to the trans activists on BlueSky, “support” even includes gender-swapping Harry Potter characters.

To sum up: An artist produced a drawing of a male Harry Potter character as a female; trans activists insisted it was transphobic because despite the “gender swap,” it was celebrating Rowling’s work; the drawing kicked off a “gender swap” fan art trend, and many of the images are disturbing and sexualized. In a hyper-digital and pornified world, AI is going to dramatically increase our ability to project our profoundly deformed imaginations onto screens and share it with others.
