A man accused of spiking a woman’s drink at a Hong Kong bar has been sacked by two fintech companies with headquarters in Singapore.

The woman shared details of the alleged incident on her social media account, saying she was warned by a waitress that her drink had been tampered with and had felt “extremely dizzy” after taking a few sips.

OpenEden and DWF Labs, which both employed the man, announced they had each terminated a staff member over the accusation. Neither company named the man in their statements.

OpenEden, a Singapore-based company focused on bringing real-world assets into decentralised finance, said on October 30 that it had “formally terminated” the man.

The company added that it was taking the allegations seriously and did not condone the individual’s suspected actions.

The day before, DWF Labs, which has its regional headquarters in the city state, said it was aware of allegations of “inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour” involving one of the company’s partners.
