A 40-year-old man has been arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting two women inside a Planet Fitness women’s locker room in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Laquan Holland was arrested on Thursday morning after police responded to a report of an assault in progress at the gym in Porter Square.
According to reports, Holland, who was a member at the gym, entered the women’s locker room where he sexually assaulted a woman and prevented her from leaving the area. Holland then attacked a second woman after she attempted to intervene to save the first victim.
Holland faces two counts of assault to rape, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14, and one count each of kidnapping and witness intimidation. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Friday and was ordered held pending a hearing scheduled for later this month.
Holland was known to police, with court records showing that he had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of child rape and one count of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 in 2006.
Planet Fitness has said that Holland’s membership has since been cancelled. The franchise group said it was working with police on the investigation. The club is located in a building owned by Lesley University, which clarified that no students or staff were involved.
The incident has brought renewed attention to the fitness franchise’s notably lenient policies with respect to locker room access.
According to its website, all members may use the locker rooms, bathrooms, showers, and any other facilities/programs “based on their self-reported gender identity,” a guideline that many have argued has contributed to other disturbing incidents in the women’s areas at multiple Planet Fitness locations across the United States.

As Reduxx reported, JaKorbie Dixon, 25, was arrested after allegedly exposing himself to a 15-year-old girl and a 19-year-old female employee in the women’s locker room of a Planet Fitness. The girl’s aunt said Dixon pulled back the shower curtain, stood naked in front of her young niece, and called after her to stay as she tried to leave.
When the family complained, staff allegedly acknowledged previous reports about Dixon, but said he had a right to use the women’s locker room under the gym’s gender self-identification policy. The family’s attorney said Dixon was allowed to continue using the women’s facilities because he “identified” as female. The same report described two separate incidents involving the employee: Dixon allegedly summoned her to the women’s locker room while naked, then exposed himself to her again weeks before the girl’s encounter.

— REDUXX (@reduxx) September 21, 2023In May of 2026, a New Hampshire woman lost her Planet Fitness membership after she complained about a male in the women’s locker room.
Judy Walcott said she spotted the man hanging his belongings outside a shower and told the front desk the encounter made her uncomfortable, but a staff member said there was nothing he could do due to Planet Fitness inclusivity policies.
When she raised it again, a second employee called her transphobic and told her to leave. The club later cancelled her membership of more than a decade. Walcott said an employee submitted the cancellation request in her name, marked “Nondiscrimination Trans,” and forged her signature. She later returned to use her paid membership, and staff called police; she received a no-trespass order.

— REDUXX (@reduxx) May 22, 2026The man was later identified as Christopher Beaulieu, a registered sex offender. Court records reviewed by Reduxx showed Beaulieu began transitioning while serving a prison sentence for sexually assaulting a child aged 13 to 16.
He later received feminizing hormones and changed his legal name to “Crystal.” He was later convicted of failing to keep authorities informed of identity changes required by his sex-offender registration.
