IPOH, Perak - A man is believed to have caused the death of his aunt, whose decomposing body was found inside a house on Nov 10, because she was overbearing.

Acting Perak police chief Zulkafli Sariaat said the woman’s 21-year-old nephew is believed to have lost his patience with the victim and attacked her before keeping her body in a room of the house at Taman Puteri Lindungan Bintang in the town of Pasir Puteh.

“They were staying together. The suspect lost his patience, got angry and punched the woman repeatedly until she fell down a flight of stairs,” he said in a press conference on Nov 11.

“Thinking she was just unconscious, he placed the woman’s body inside a room.

“The suspect has already confessed to the offence,” Mr Zulkafli added.

The victim, 54, was found dead by the police on Nov 10 after receiving a call at about 8.30am.

The body was already in a decomposing condition.

Mr Zulkafli said the victim’s body is believed to have been decomposing in the room for four days.

“The victim’s brother had looked for her but was told by the suspect that she had locked herself inside the room.

“The woman’s brother had also smelled a foul odour before calling the police,” he said, adding that a remand order for the suspect is being obtained at the court.

“The post-mortem is still ongoing to determine the cause of death,” he added. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
