Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were brutally mocked as Trump supporters drove through the "liberal" town of Montecito.

A procession of Trump supporters, known as a "Trump Train", drove through the celebrity enclave in California over the weekend, sparking outrage among residents.

The convoy, decorated with Trump banners and American flags, made its way through the affluent Santa Barbara suburb, home to numerous high-profile celebrities and Democratic Party supporters.

The demonstration came as supporters celebrated Trump's recent election victory over Kamala Harris.

One participant's parent shared on social media: "Our daughter and her friend participated in the Trump Train in Montecito, Cal today. Naturally, the liberals were in rare form."

The procession was one of many similar "Trump Train" events that have emerged across the United States in support of the upcoming president.

Local residents responded to the procession with gestures of disapproval, with several people standing on street corners giving drivers the middle finger.

The convoy featured vehicles adorned with Trump banners and flags, with some cars displaying the Stars and Stripes painted on their sides.

The display likely came as an unwelcome shock to the area's wealthy liberal residents, many of whom are significant Democratic Party donors.

The procession made its way through the exclusive neighbourhood, nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains.

The tony area is known for providing the perfect mix of mild weather and scenic seascape, making it an ideal haven for privacy-seeking celebrities.

Among the area's most notable residents are Prince Harry and Meghan, who purchased their £14million Montecito mansion in 2020, located 95 miles north of Los Angeles.

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey owns an impressive 70-acre compound comprising three Montecito ranches, dubbed "The Promised Land," valued at £90million.

The star-studded neighbourhood also counts Ellen DeGeneres, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ariana Grande, Rob Lowe, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom among its residents.

Winfrey recently faced scrutiny over an alleged £1million appearance fee for interviewing Vice President Kamala Harris, whom she endorsed in the 2024 presidential race.

While Winfrey maintains she "was not paid a dime," her production company, Harpo, allegedly received payment from the Harris campaign for what they described as "ancillary costs".

Prince Harry and Meghan maintained a notably reserved stance during this election cycle, with neither officially endorsing a candidate.

This marks a shift from their more pointed 2020 message when they urged voters to "reject hate speech, misinformation, and online negativity," widely interpreted as support for Biden.
