Michael Douglas recalled a wild encounter with the police and the bizarre lengths Danny DeVito went to hide drugs in a car.
Douglas described the encounter on the Oct. 14 episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” and explained that the whole situation began when he “made an illegal left-hand turn.”
The actor recalled stepping out of the vehicle to speak with police during the traffic stop, while DeVito unexpectedly took matters into his own hands behind the scenes.
Douglas described what he saw when he finished speaking with the police.
“I remember I got back into the car and Danny – Danny was with me – and we had – a few joints,” he said.
“Danny was in the back seat and I just looked at him and I said ‘Where’s the grass?’ And Danny smiled and all his mouth was entirely green.”
Douglas continued, “He swallowed all of it at the time!”
“Crazy, crazy stories – we had a great time!” he told Rogan.

Douglas also recounted another drug-related experience in his memoir, “One Helluva Ride,” released Oct. 6.
The famous actor admitted that he smuggled nearly 200 pounds of marijuana from California to New York to pay for his college education when his father, Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas, ceased his financial support. Douglas said that his father gave him $10,000 when he turned 21 and told him that he had to figure out how to pave his own way, according to Tribune. He said he still had to figure out how to manage two years of tuition along with other university expenses, so he resorted to unconventional methods to get by.
Douglas said he used two suitcases filled with approximately 22 kilograms of marijuana each, and made two trips to sell drugs to a contact in New York.
The actor eventually told his father what he had done and admitted that getting a student loan would have been the better option, according to Tribune.
