Monster Hunter Wilds dev reveals the game’s title logo has a secret meaning in it that he’d like players to figure out.
Despite optimization issues that players think are caused by a single typo, Monster Hunter Wilds’ launch has no doubt been very successful.
And while the title is still fresh, players can already sink their time into plenty of things, including the newly added limited-time Event Quests.
Gameplay-related things aside, however, the game apparently has a hidden message that the game’s director hope players will figure out.
Art director and executive director Kaname Fujioka revealed that the game’s logo art has secrets hidden in it. During an interview with Famitsu, the director briefly discussed the six dragons depicted in the logo, something many fans theorized about even before Wilds was released.

A closer look at the Monster Hunter Wilds logo.
He said: “It’s the will of the developers, or perhaps I could even call it a kind of message.” He then further explained why a number wasn’t added to the title.
As translated by Automaton, he explained: “We want to encourage players to pick up the games and play them as stand-alone works, which is why we don’t number them. However, if I’m talking about our feelings as creators, we do prefer to think of it as the sixth installment to the series,” hence including the six dragons in the logo.
Interestingly, there’s more than what meets the eye than just this when it comes to the logo. Fujioka also mentioned that the logo has some secret meaning related to the story. Rather than spilling the beans, however, he’d like to see players figure it out by themselves by playing the game.
To him, it’s “not really surprising” if players don’t notice it, as it’s a “very abstract thing.” However, he has already expected there will be “various theories” considering that the story of the game itself “isn’t very straightforward” and that world-building is “detailed and rich.”
Beating the main story of Wilds takes approximately 30-40 hours as the game has so many chapters and quests. While the game is still new, it’ll certainly be interesting to see players attempt to break down their theories later.
