Monster Hunter Wilds players have been recreating Palicoes to look like their late pets, grateful to see them again.
Creating your character and Palico is something you’d do right off the bat in Monster Hunter Wilds. Thanks to the extensive customization options, it’s possible to truly be creative and design however you want them to look.
We’ve seen talented players create Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher or Kratos from God of War that look exactly like their original video game counterparts. The same goes with Palicoes too, as players have made it possible for them to even look like Pokemon.
Speaking of Palicoes, some people are using the character customization feature to pay loving tribute to their late pets as well so they can follow them on their journey in-game.
Monster Hunter Wilds players are grateful for being able to see their late pets again
Since the game was released, some players have shared images of their Palicoes, which were made to look like their beloved pets, who are now no longer with them.
Despite Monster Hunter Wild being a mere video game, many have found it “comforting” to see their loved ones being able to greet them once more and follow them around.
One user in a Reddit thread shared the story of their cat, who died just a day before Wilds came out. They admitted that it’s been “a very hard week” as they had just lost their 15 year old cat. However, they’re thankful it’s possible to have her join in the fight.
“I’m unbelievably broken about losing her, but having her by my side in this journey makes me feel like she’s not gone. She may be gone from this world, but her memory lives on forever while she’s fighting beside me. That gives me so much peace, and I’m forever grateful to Monster Hunter for this.”
They’re not alone in this situation, as others have also chimed in to share their similar experiences.
“Lost my dear girl a couple of years ago and knew I would be dedicating my palico slot to her. The fact that they speak like humans now and how excited she gets is just very comforting in a weird way. I personify my pets, so I feel very connected to this little digital being, even if it’s not my late kitty,” commented another.
In a separate thread, another user expressed gratitude for the opportunity to unite with their best friend again.
Recreating Mr. Kitty as their Palico, the user wrote: “Sometimes it gets hard to play through the tears, and I know it’s not really her, but it seriously means so much to me. Thank you.”
