The final positions in Group C of the 2026 World Cup will be decided as we look ahead to Matchday 3 with our Morocco vs Haiti prediction and preview. After getting four points against Brazil and Scotland, can the Atlas Lions make history by finishing top of the pile?
Morocco vs Haiti: The Key Insights
- The Opta supercomputer views Morocco as massive favourites to win this game, with Mohamed Ouahbi’s side coming out on top in 81.0% of the 25,000 pre-match simulations.
- Morocco have won three of their last four group games at the World Cup, more than they’d managed across their first 16 attempts in this phase of the tournament (two wins).
- Haiti have lost all five games they’ve played in their two World Cup appearances, conceding 18 goals and scoring just twice. Only El Salvador (six) have played more games at the tournament and maintained a 100% loss rate.
Top spot in Group C of the 2026 World Cup is on the line as Morocco prepare for a decisive clash with Haiti at Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday, with the Atlas Lions still having the chance to overtake five-time winners Brazil.
Morocco are unbeaten and sit second in the group ahead of facing already-eliminated Haiti, having drawn 1–1 with Brazil and beaten Scotland 1–0 to put themselves within touching distance of the last 32.
Ismael Saibari scored a nice opener against Brazil and found the net even earlier against Scotland last time out, volleying home in the second minute with what proved to be the earliest winning goal in World Cup history.
Saibari’s strike after just one minute and 10 seconds was also the earliest goal scored at the 2026 World Cup, with Brahim Díaz providing his second assist in as many games for the PSV forward.
Morocco have impressed from front to back in their two games, and no player has won more duels (15), played more passes into the box (11) or had more shots (5) than Achraf Hakimi, with only Díaz (5) creating more chances than the PSG full-back (4).

The Atlas Lions’ efficiency at both ends was exemplified by Scotland failing to have a single shot on target despite trailing for 88 minutes, with 18-year-old Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi controlling the engine room, having also impressed against Brazil.
As things stand, Morocco are on track to face the Netherlands (top of Group F) in the last 32, with Brazil, only above Ouahbi’s side on goal difference, set to face Japan from the same group.
Dropping to third behind Scotland – should they beat Brazil in their Group C decider – would pit Morocco against Group E winners Germany, meaning there is no ‘easy’ path for the 2022 semi-finalists.
However, Morocco will want to give themselves the best possible draw by beating a Haiti side who have two defeats from two on their World Cup return, falling 1–0 and 3–0 to Scotland and Brazil respectively.
Haiti are yet to collect a point or clean sheet in a World Cup match, and have now conceded three or more goals in four of their five matches (18 in total) in the 1974 and 2026 editions.
Carlens Arcus receiving the fastest yellow card of the 2026 World Cup (three minutes, 21 seconds) set the tone, as Brazil quickly took control with first-half goals from Matheus Cunha (2) and Vinícius Júnior.
Wilson Isidor was introduced at the break after Haiti failed to muster a single shot in the first half – Brazil’s first such shutout in a World Cup match since facing Scotland in 1990.
However, Haiti did limit the Seleção to just eight shots in total across the 90 minutes and only two in the entire second half, the joint fewest Brazil have managed after half-time at the World Cup (on record), alongside their quarter-final against Colombia in 2014.

With no chance of reaching the knockout stages, Haiti will look to finish their campaign on a high and potentially frustrate Morocco at the same time, with the Carribbean island nation still in search of their first ever World Cup point.
Morocco vs Haiti Head-to-Head
This will be the first encounter between Morocco and Haiti, with Sébastien Migné’s side playing in just their sixth World Cup match following a 52-year absence between tournament appearances.
Morocco’s only previous World Cup encounter with a CONCACAF nation came during the 2022 group stage, beating Canada 2-1 in Qatar thanks to first-half goals from Hakim Ziyech and Youssef En-Nesyri.
Meanwhile, this is Haiti’s first game against African opposition at the tournament; their only two previous meetings with CAF nations both came in friendlies, against Congo (in 1992) and Tunisia (in March 2026).
Morocco vs Haiti Prediction
Arguably the most impressive side in Group C so far and poised to face the Netherlands, Japan or Germany in the last 32, the Opta supercomputer is expecting Morocco to finish strongly against Haiti.
From 25,000 pre-match simulations, Morocco emerged victorious in 81.0% of the outcomes, suggesting they will be comfortable favourites in Atlanta.
Haiti are given little margin for error with a mere 6.8% chance of victory, but with a draw standing at 12.3% likelihood, Les Grenadiers will do all they can to create history and avoid a sixth straight World Cup defeat.
