More human remains have been found on a stretch of Californian coastline just a day after a leg washed up at the same location.

A partial limb was discovered in the 6800 block of Paseo Del Mar in Palos Verdes Estates on Thursday, SFGate reports.

It comes after a family out for a walk on Christmas Day came across a leg on Bluff Cove Trail on the 800 block of Paseo Del Mar.

Police used cadaver dogs to scour the area, but found no other evidence.

The remains washed up two miles from where two fishermen went missing on Christmas Eve.

The men, both described as in their 50s, vanished after their boat overturned near Cabrillo Beach amid forecasts of 13-foot waves.

Rescue crews began a search at around 5:30 am and quickly located their boat on some rocks around the 1800 block of Paseo Del Mar.

Several people who saw the wreckage told KTLA News that the boat was riddled with holes and life vests.

Palos Verdes resident John Crayton was among those expressing concern about the discovery

The discovery prompted a shoreline search in which several people on foot attempted to find any signs of the missing men.

Efforts also continued in the water with boats, jet skis and a drone used to try to locate the men.

Due to dangers of rough weather conditions, the search was scaled back. The Coast Guard ultimately announced its suspension on Wednesday after finding no evidence that the men could be alive.

They have not released the identities of the fisherman, but have not found evidence to suggest the remains belong to the missing boaters.

'We're not ruling anything out, but that has not been determined at this point,' Palos Verdes Estates Police Department captain Aaron Belda noted.

Stunned locals have expressed concern over the recent grisly finds.

'This is terrible,' John Crayton, a Palos Verdes resident, told NBC. 'It's Christmas, it's supposed to be a season of joy. My heart goes out to the family.'

'It's just shocking and makes you wonder you know and think that could have my family,' said Zully Ozuna, a Palos Verdes beachgoer added.

Another partial limb was the recovered along the same stretch a day later

It came after two fisherman went missing near the area the remains were found, however police have yet to find evidence the discoveries are connected

It is not the first time this year that human remains have been found along the rugged stretch.

A human skull and bone were discovered on Rat Beach located on the 200 block of Paseo Del Mar on November 16.

When officers of the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department responded to the scene, they found additional bones in the area.

'And sure enough, when they got there, they saw what looked to be a skull and a part of a skeleton, a torso in the surf,' Belda told The Daily Breeze in November.

Investigators with the L.A. County Medical Examiner's Office also responded to the call and ultimately confirmed that the bones were those of a human.

Information on the possible age or gender of the remains along with any information regarding the date or cause of death were not available after the discovery, prompting an investigation.
