The Portland Trail Blazers fired a newly hired announcer Thursday over tweets he posted when he was just 15 years old.

The same day the team hired Braiden Bell, a super brave investigative reporter from a local Portland outlet, KGW, obtained dirt on him: the reporter found social media posts from over a decade ago. Scary ones. Racist ones. Misogynistic ones. The horror! (RELATED: The Liberal Scold Who Spent Years Wagging Her Fingers At Conservatives Admits She Raised Her Child All Wrong)

The tweets in question?

When Bell was just a teenager, he posted that he’s “not racist” but “Asian people piss me off,” and shoutouts to “big girls” and “closet whores.”

In other words, standard stuff for a teen boy whose frontal lobes had not yet fully developed.

But the Trail Blazers immediately caved. There was no hesitation. An online mob hadn’t even formed. They just anticipated that every citizen of Portland, that bastion of hyper-wokeness, would bring pitchforks to the next game demanding a head roll.

“The Portland Trail Blazers have zero tolerance for racist, sexist, or harmful comments,” the team said in a statement. “Social media posts made by our recently announced play-by-play broadcaster are in clear violation of team and league policies, as well as our values and expectations. Therefore, we will not be moving forward with this broadcaster.”

Meanwhile, the “reporter” who wrote the story, Devon Haskins, got absolutely mogged on X — and deservedly so.

One user wrote in response, “You have teenagers right now. I hope you took the time to have the conversation with them that there is somebody like you out there that is going to hold them to account in the year 2041 for who they are today.”

Another user resurfaced an old tweet in which Haskins joked that the only time it’s okay to see old ladies working the polls is on Election Day.

Excuse me, @KGWNews, but this kind of behavior is inexcusable for a reporter. How can we expect him to accurately report any news item with this type of attitude toward women? Shameful! pic.twitter.com/eRl0zDafnW

Well, that’s totally not a creepy thing to say.
