The show which has got viewers hooked is almost a decade old - but that hasn't stopped them returning to binge watch it.

Netflix subscribers have been hooked on Queen of the South, which premiered on the streaming giant eight years ago.

The five-series show follows Teresa Mendoza as she leads a huge drug cartel in Dallas Texas, after fleeing to the US following the murder of her drug dealer boyfriend in Mexico.

In a bid to avenge her former lover, Teresa slowly builds the country's largest drugs smuggling ring to bring down the leader of the drug trafficking ring who brutally shot her boyfriend and forced her to start her life over again in the States.

The five-series show follows Teresa Mendoza as she leads a huge drug cartel in Dallas Texas , after fleeing to the US following the murder of her drug dealer boyfriend in Mexico

The series was an adaptation of the Spanish-language telenovela La Reina del Sur, which is based on the novel The Queen Of The South by Arturo Pérez-Reverte.

Despite fan acclaim, the 2021 series was the last as it followed the downfall of the drug Queen-pin and the assassination of Teresa after she made it to the top of the drugs trade, only to be faced by new challenges, including being investigated by government forces and tracked by her enemies.

And fans of it have flocked to LADbible's Netflix Bangers Facebook page to encourage others to start the show.

The hyped series comes after Netflix fans have been gripped by another thriller which has taken over from fan -favourite Emily In Paris, Squid Games and Baby Reindeer, The Frog is said to be the next best thing.

The K-drama - which released last month - follows a mysterious woman who arrives as a guest in a remote countryside mansion, covered in blood.

Created by Mo Wan-il and Son Ho-young, the eight-part stars Kim Yun-seok and Yoon Kye-sang.

After the woman arrives in the eerie house, cracks appear in the tranquility of everyday life as the supernatural world starts to take over the house.

Some fans have already completed the series and claimed they didn't even feel the need to reach for their phone during the episodes.

Taking to X to share their reactions, viewers wrote: 'If you love thriller and just plain crazy villain, go watch the frog on Netflix. Acting directing editing and plot all are superbs',

'Just one line for ‘The frog’ on Netflix - intense yet very, very subtle. Crisp storytelling, brilliant direction and performances and the aesthetic cinematography is a cherry on top. An absolute masterpiece',

'Yes its a masterpiece, chanyeol, go min si, actually everyone acted so well',

'I finally finished binge watching The Frog. I find the start quite slow, but eventually, I got hooked. In fairness to all the actors, they did an excellent job. Maybe Seong A has a psychological disorder, nut his father probably coddled her too much.'
