Allen Robinson II has decided to retire from the NFL after 11 seasons.
The wide receiver played for five teams during his career, most recently with the Detroit Lions in 2024, and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2015.
On the day of his 33rd birthday, Robinson decided to quit football just weeks before the new NFL season begins.
'As I reflect on another year of life, I find myself especially grateful; not just for where I am, but for the journey that brought me here. This birthday feels a little different. It marks not only another year, but the beginning of a new chapter,' Robinson wrote on Instagram on Monday.

Robinson was a Pro Bowl selection in 2015 when he played for the Jacksonville Jaguars
Robinson was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Penn State.
He played three full seasons in Florida and got career highs in both yards (1,400) and touchdowns (14) during the 2015 season.
After a knee injury ruined his 2017 season, Robinson signed a three-year, $42 million deal to join the Chicago Bears.
He spent four seasons in Chicago, posting a career high of 102 receptions during the 2020 season.
Months after the Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl, they signed Robinson to a three-year, $46.5 million contract in March 2022 to hand Matthew Stafford another weapon alongside Cooper Kupp.
But he made just 10 appearances in his first season and struggled to stay healthy as the Rams failed to defend their title.
By April 2023, the Rams traded him to the Pittsburgh Steelers. That season he played all 17 regular season games before getting released.
Robinson had a stint with the New York Giants in 2024 but was picked up by the Detroit Lions in time for the start of the season. He appeared in 12 games.
Now, after sitting out the 2025 season, Robinson announced he is walking away from football for good.
