One of Britain’s most notorious serial killers, Robert Maudsley, known as ‘Hannibal the Cannibal,’ is allegedly on hunger strike after guards took his PlayStation away.

74-year-old Maudsley is a world record holder, though not for anything productive. He’s currently the longest-serving prisoner in solitary confinement, having been isolated for roughly 46 years.

Keeping himself sane, the ‘Cannibal’ often dipped into works of fiction, be it books, television, or video games, according to his brother, Paul Maudsley. However, with guards having recently taken away his entertainment, including his PlayStation console, the criminal is currently starving himself in protest.

His brother Paul claimed, in speaking with the Mirror UK, that Robert won’t eat again until he has his PlayStation returned.

Maudsley has taken four lives in the real world but seemingly countless in multiplayer games.

There was a recent “operational exercise,” Paul alleged. During which, prison guards were searching for an inmate that was rumored to have smuggled in a firearm. As a result, “Bob’s section was out for a couple of days.

“Bob complained and he’s normally polite, but the prison officers accused him of being abusive.”

As a result of this supposed behaviour, when Bob got back to his prison cell, he found his “TV, PlayStation, books, and radio” had all been removed.

“I’m going on hunger strike so don’t be surprised if this is the last time I call you,” Bob allegedly told his brother.

These forms of entertainment were seemingly his top priority, always spending his time “playing war games and chess on his PlayStation and always watching old films on TV and reading factual books,” according to Paul.

Having first been jailed at the age of 21, Bob was sentenced for life for a double murder. Just four years into his sentence, he then killed again, taking down three fellow prisoners rumored to be child rapists and pedophiles.

As a result of his spree, Bob was taken away and placed in solitary confinement, from which he hasn’t returned. It marks the single longest span of such punishment in history, with many labelling him Britain’s most dangerous inmate.
