A driver plowed a car into pedestrians at a street market in Germany early Monday, killing at least one and injuring multiple others, according to police and reports.

The driver drove an SUV “at speed” into a pedestrian zone in the city of Mannheim in the state of Baden-Wurttemberg — before getting out and running off, police sources told German outlet Mannheimer Morgen.

At least one person was killed, the outlet said, with videos shared online showing multiple bodies strewn on the ground with a police patrol car in place.

A second clip shows armed police chasing a suspect, who was arrested soon after the carnage, according to BILD.

A “life-threatening situation” warning urging residents to avoid the city center, which was holding a street market with food stalls, rides and games at the time.

“It is terrible here, nobody knows what happened, you only see injured people and the dead, and you don’t know what to do,” one eyewitness told Mannheimer Morgen.

Local cops confirmed a large-scale operation in the area, without giving official word on a motive.
