A man hauled a full gaming PC into a grocery store, set his dog up on a bed beside him, and queued for Overwatch.

Plenty of people treat the grocery store as a free office and nurse a single coffee for hours on the in-store WiFi, but this man took the idea somewhere stranger, because he skipped the laptop entirely. Instead, he brought a tower, a monitor, a headset, and a dog who clearly knew the drill.

The clip surfaced over the weekend, posted on the Overwatch subreddit, and it shows the whole operation.

A glowing RGB tower sat against the wall, a monitor ran Overwatch, a wired headset covered his ears, his phone rested on the table, and a gallon jug of Milo’s sweet tea held its post beside it all. His dog, kitted out in a vest, dozed on a mat under the table while the man worked through his rounds.

Replies identified the store as the Whole Foods near Mopac and Cannon in south Austin, though nothing in the footage confirms the chain, and the free WiFi is the only thing doing the heavy lifting either way.

Overwatch players took one look at the monitor and noticed its owner was a Lifeweaver main. “From now on I’m imaging that all LW mains look like this,” one wrote.

Another spelled out the gap between the hero and the men who play him: “Lifeweaver is such a ‘cute plushie baby puppy’ type of character but all the mains look like we’ve been fighting demons and baldness.”

A third, smaller group skipped the jokes though, and asked whether you should film a stranger mid-match and post it for two million people.

Overwatch keeps drawing people back in strange ways, which helps explain why its player numbers have climbed again this year. Anyone chasing a win from a more conventional desk can start with the latest mid-season patch notes.
