Palworld communications director John ‘Bucky’ Buckley has been playfully reacting to fan-made mods that give two female Pals noticeably exaggerated redesigns.
Buckley serves as Pocketpair’s communications director and publishing manager, regularly interacting with players and commenting on community creations through his Palworld-affiliated X account.
The reactions arrived weeks after Palworld’s massive 1.0 update, which introduced more than 200 Pals and helped bring nearly one million concurrent players back to the game.
Palworld has developed an active modding scene since its early-access launch, with players creating everything from quality-of-life improvements to heavily altered cosmetic models. Mod aggregator sites like NexusMods offer hundreds of Palworld mods that “enhance” female pals.
Bucky gives approving reactions to Sekhmet and Lovander mods
The first post came from Palworld player Reldrik, who shared a clip of an altered Sekhmet model dancing on a couch alongside the question: “What was Palworld about again?”
The mod keeps Sekhmet’s recognizable black, gold, and blue design but gives the character far more exaggerated proportions than her official appearance.
Buckley responded: “Fun. Palworld is about having fun :)”
When Reldrik answered, “I like fun,” Buckley followed up with a handshake reaction.
He later spotted another community creation featuring Lovander, which had received an even more dramatic redesign. The image showed the towering pink Pal standing beside a player character, making the changes to its model difficult to miss.
“I could be wrong…but I don’t think this is official…” Buckley joked in response.

Lovander was already one of Palworld’s more deliberately flirtatious creatures, meaning the community’s decision to push its design even further was perhaps inevitable.
The responses make it clear that Pocketpair is seeing some of the stranger creations emerging from Palworld’s modding community, even when those creations take the game’s character designs in a suggestive direction.
