Millions of drivers across the UK are facing a "postcode lottery" when filling up their cars, with new data showing an almost £5 per tank gap between regions.
Analysis of the Government's Fuel Finder data shows that drivers are facing an average cost of 174.1p per litre for petrol and 199.88p for diesel.
Despite this, drivers are paying significantly more for their fuel in different parts of the UK, especially in the South East and Scotland.
Motorists in Northern Ireland are consistently paying the least for their fuel, with unleaded E10 costing an average of 167.32p a litre, while diesel costs 193.12p.
Individual forecourts in Northern Ireland are selling fuel at an even cheaper rate, with Ballydown Filling Station charging 160.9p for petrol and Yorkgate Centre Superstore charging 181.9p for diesel.
In comparison, motorists in Scotland are paying an average of £2.01 for diesel in Scotland and £1.76 for diesel in the South East of England.
As a result, the AA is calling on drivers to ensure they are getting the best prices they possibly can by shopping around before they buy.
Apps, including the AA app, will show motorists nearby petrol stations and how much they are charging for fuel.
Experts have called on drivers to shop around to avoid huge fuel prices

Edmund King, AA president, said: "Fuel prices are heading in the right direction, but drivers can still face a real postcode lottery at the pumps.
"Yesterday we urged drivers to make every drop matter, and today's figures show why shopping around is part of that. Where you live can affect what you pay, but so can where you choose to fill up.
"The AA app makes it easier to compare nearby fuel prices and find cheaper options before setting off. With differences of several pence a litre between areas and forecourts, a quick check could save drivers pounds on a tank."
GB News has compiled a list of the cheapest and most expensive petrol and diesel prices seen so far this month using data from the Government's Fuel Finder tool.
