Terrible… But you gotta do what you gotta do.

The PGA Tour has made it official: the Genesis Invitational Tournament will be relocated from Pacific Palisades’ Riviera Country Club.

For quite some time now, the country club has hosted the invitational as a part of the PGA Tour’s extension in the West Coast, with things usually being scheduled for the week of Feb. 13-16. It’s a great tournament in Los Angeles, but unfortunately, things won’t be in the City of Angels this year because of the fires going on. With the Pacific Palisades in particular, almost every house has been wiped out in the tragedy.

The Tour announced Thursday that they have made the decision to move the tournament out of L.A. (RELATED: LIV Golf Scores Major TV Contract That Finally Sees Them Swimming In Glory — An American Icon Deserves All The Credit)

“The PGA Tour’s focus continues to be on the safety and well-being of those affected by the unprecedented natural disaster in Greater Los Angeles,” read the statement. “We are grateful for the life-saving efforts of first responders and the tireless work being done to put an end to the tragic wildfires.

“In collaboration with Genesis, The Riviera Country Club and TGR Live, and out of respect for the unfolding situation, we have determined that the 2025 Genesis Invitational will be played at an alternate location the week of February 10-16.”

The alternate site has not yet been announced by the PGA Tour.

I hate that this tournament has to be moved out of Los Angeles, but the PGA had to do what they had to do in a tough situation.
