Pokemon TCG’s mysterious RGB Mew cards have finally surfaced in red, green, and blue after months of collectors questioning whether they were elaborate fakes.
The mystery began on July 25, when Australian seller PokeAus Hits pulled an unfamiliar blue Mew during a Whatnot livestream. As Dexerto reported at the time, its unusual artwork, missing anniversary stamp, and B/RGB designation divided collectors over whether it belonged to the upcoming 30th Celebration expansion.
Two more blue copies appeared during separate livestream openings on August 28, making a one-off hoax increasingly unlikely. However, questions remained about the rumored red and green versions, along with claims that the cards appeared in just one of every 20,000 packs.
Red and green Mew join the original blue card
PokeGuardian’s updated 30th Celebration gallery now contains clear English images of all three RGB Mew designs, giving collectors a detailed look at the complete trio.
Pokemon Deals UK highlighted the images on September 15, declaring “RGB MEW IS REAL!” before identifying PokeGuardian’s gallery as its source.
The cards carry R/RGB, G/RGB, and B/RGB designations, respectively, and each credits Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN. The red card features a blue Mew against a vivid red background, with green lettering and borders.
The reveal follows PokeBeach’s September 12 report documenting collectors pulling all three colors as products reached some retailers ahead of release. That report also shows French red and green copies, alongside a Japanese blue Mew.
PokeBeach describes the trio as a reference to the original Pokemon Red, Green, and Blue games. It also notes that the cards remain absent from the Elite Trainer Box booklet, an omission that previously fueled arguments that the original blue copy was fake.
The trio’s rarity is still unknown. Our earlier report on the alleged one-in-20,000 odds covered TheCardScience’s claim that a Millennium Print Group employee had confirmed that figure, but the information was never publicly verified.
PokeBeach says more pack openings are needed to establish the pull rates. Collectors now have clear images and documented physical copies of all three variants, but no confirmed odds for finding them.
