President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday threatened 100% tariffs against BRICS, a block of nine nations, if they continue to act to undermine the U.S. dollar. His threat was directed at countries in the BRIC alliance, which consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates.
Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Malaysia have applied to become members and several other countries have expressed interest in joining.
The Biden Administration’s economic and foreign policy has damaged the U.S dollar. These policies have helped enable the ascension of BRICS. A group of countries led by China & Russia who seek to end the U.S dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency. Unlike the weak Biden Administration, President Trump is making it clear that the actions taken by the BRICS nations against the U.S will not be tolerated. What a relief that we have President Trump coming back to the Oval Office.
