President Trump Visits Montana with a Record of Results for Workers, Families, and Communities

Today, President Donald J. Trump heads to Montana for a stop in Kalispell. He arrives with a proven record of America First policies that put Montana workers, families, seniors, and communities first — delivering historic tax relief, unleashing private investment and job growth, securing energy dominance, building critical minerals independence, and protecting public lands and rural communities.

Delivering Tax Relief for Hardworking Montanans

President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts are putting money back in the pockets of Montana workers, families, and seniors.

• No Tax on Social Security: Approximately 200,000 Montana seniors benefit from the new senior deduction, with the average senior expected to pay zero federal taxes on Social Security benefits.
• Bigger Refunds: Montana taxpayers saw average refunds of $3,304 in 2026.
• Protecting Jobs and Wages: The Working Families Tax Cuts safeguarded 20,000 Montana jobs, $4 billion in state GDP, and $2 billion in workers’ wages.

Strengthening Rural Healthcare

President Trump is bolstering access to care in Montana’s rural and frontier communities.

• Rural Health Investments: Montana secured $233 million in first-year Rural Health Transformation Program funding from the Working Families Tax Cuts — the fourth-highest award among all states.
• Rural EMS: The Trump Administration announced $8.7 million in September 2026 from the Rural Health Transformation Program for new ambulances and lifesaving equipment at 79 rural Montana EMS agencies, including three tribal governments.
• Behavioral Health: Montana secured federal approval in May 2026 to stand up certified community behavioral health clinics at roughly 20 sites statewide, replacing short-term grants with permanent funding.

Growing Montana’s Manufacturing Base

President Trump’s pro-growth agenda is driving private investment and job creation across the state.

• Janicki Industries selected Great Falls for an $800 million advanced manufacturing campus, creating more than 1,000 jobs within five years and more than 2,000 jobs at completion.
• Montana ranked ninth in the nation for job growth during the first year of President Trump’s second term.
• Under Republican leadership, Montana’s unemployment rate stood at 3.2% in August — well below the national average and ranking among the lowest in the country.

Driving American Energy Dominance

President Trump’s energy dominance agenda has reversed the previous Administration’s restrictions and unlocked major coal development that supports high-paying jobs and reliable power.

• Spring Creek Mine (Big Horn County): In March 2025, the Department of the Interior approved an expansion that extends the mine’s operating life by 16 years, enables production of 39.9 million tons of coal, and supports hundreds of jobs.
• Rosebud Mine (Rosebud and Treasure counties): Interior approved an expansion that recovers 33.75 million tons of federal coal, extends operations through 2039, supports more than 300 high-paying jobs, and supplies the Colstrip and Rosebud power plants, which together generate 1,500 megawatts of electricity.
• Bull Mountains Mine: Interior approved a mining plan modification that authorizes 22.8 million tons of federal coal and 34.5 million tons of adjacent non-federal coal, extends the mine by up to nine years, supports more than 250 jobs, and enables significant exports to U.S. allies.

Building America’s Critical Minerals Supply Chain

President Trump is restoring domestic production of critical minerals and ending reliance on foreign adversaries.

• United States Antimony Corporation (USAC) has earned millions in Department of War grant milestones for its Thompson Falls smelter expansion under a $27 million Defense Production Act award.
• USAC resumed mining at Stibnite Hill and is processing ore at its newly acquired Radersburg mill, restoring domestic antimony production for the first time in decades.
• Montana antimony is refilling the National Defense Stockpile under a five-year, $245 million contract with the Defense Logistics Agency.

Returning Control of Lands and Water to Montanans

President Trump is putting decision-making back in the hands of Montanans while delivering critical infrastructure.

• Grizzly Bears: The Fish and Wildlife Service proposed a rule in July 2026 giving Montana and other Western states greater flexibility to manage grizzlies in the Yellowstone ecosystem and other recovery areas where populations have met or exceeded recovery benchmarks, while maintaining Endangered Species Act protections.
• Fort Peck Water: President Trump signed the Fort Peck rural water reauthorization in September 2026, keeping clean water construction on schedule for the Fort Peck Reservation and Roosevelt, Sheridan, Valley, and Daniels counties.
• Crow Tribe Water Rights: Congress passed the Crow Tribe Water Rights Settlement Amendments Act in September 2026 and sent it to President Trump’s desk, giving the tribe flexibility to finish its water system and hydropower project.

Rebuilding America’s Nuclear Deterrent at Malmstrom AFB

President Trump is modernizing the land-based leg of the nuclear triad in Montana.

• The Air Force and Army Corps of Engineers broke ground in May 2026 on a $26 million commercial entrance facility that clears the way for nearly $1 billion in Sentinel construction work at Malmstrom.
• Work is advancing on surveying and preparing sites across central Montana’s missile fields to replace the aging Minuteman III with the new Sentinel ICBM.

President Trump and Republicans are delivering America First policies that put Montana first: lower taxes, major private investment, energy dominance, a secure critical minerals supply chain, safer communities, and critical infrastructure. Montanans face a clear choice between continuing this progress or returning to the higher taxes, energy restrictions, and failed policies of the past.
