A psychiatrist who testified as a prosecution rebuttal witness in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial is “no longer employed” after telling the court that the mother showed no signs of the psychosis her lawyers say drove her to kill her three children, a report shows.
Nemours Children’s Health in Delaware told CT Insider on Friday that Avram Mack is no longer working with the health system, and he is no longer listed on its website. (RELATED: The Children Are Dead. Why Are We Crying For Lindsay Clancy?)
One person who said their child had been a patient of the doctor said they had an upcoming appointment scheduled with Mack, but received a notice Wednesday that all of his patients were “being moved to new providers and they would reach out to us to reschedule once a new psychiatrist within the practice was assigned.”

— CBS News (@CBSNews) August 21, 2026Mack had been employed with the hospital as the chief of psychiatry since 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile, which added that he has spent the last 10 years doubling as a professor of clinical psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mack had also stated during the trial that he was on retainer at the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, which was overseeing Clancy’s prosecution.
Neither the DA’s office nor the university replied to the Daily Caller’s request to verify whether he was still employed.
Clancy was charged with first-degree murder after strangling her 5-year-old, 3-year-old, and 8-month-old children in 2023. Her attorney admits that Clancy killed the children but has argued that she should not be held criminally liable for the deaths because she was suffering from postpartum psychosis, CNN reported.
Mack had been brought in as a rebuttal witness on August 21 and again for cross-examination on Monday, and testified that after having interviewed Clancy and read her record, he had not found any evidence of psychosis.
Instead, he said that some of the thoughts she was having, such as the fear her children would be taken away from her, were actually quite normal.

He also noted that eight months had passed since Clancy’s last child was born, while the postpartum period is generally considered to last four to six weeks.
During the cross-examination, Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, challenged Mack’s ability to diagnose adults, as he is a child psychiatrist, CT Insider reported.
When asked Friday whether he had heard the claims that Mack was no longer employed, Reddington only turned to the camera and smiled before taking further questions.
The conditions of Clancy’s departure from Nemours Children’s Health have not been clarified.
