If you're looking for an iPad mainly for reading, the iPad mini is the one we'd recommend, per our roundup of the best iPads of 2026. It has a compact size, which is very helpful if you're bringing it along on vacations or casual outings, with an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display. Its A17 Pro chip also offers speedy performance and graphics, plus its all-day battery life can keep you busy in a favorite book for hours.
The iPad mini has a very nice camera, too. It comes with a 12MP Ultra Wide front camera for video calls and selfies, and a 12MP Wide back camera for detailed photos and videos. And if you're curious about how much storage you'll have for all these photos and videos, along with the many apps you're hoping to download, this particular model comes with 128GB to fill.
