Fulshear, Texas, has been named the fastest growing wealthy suburb in America.

That is according to new analysis from GOBankingRates.

Fulshear, which is located just outside of Houston, has a population of just over 34,000 people, but is growing rapidly.

According to the study, the population of the agricultural community has grown by 237 percent between 2018 and 2023.

In fact, Texas is home to the top three suburbs which are growing the quickest in population and wealth across the US.

Celina, which is around 40 miles north of downtown Dallas, ranked second on the list with a 190 percent increase in population.

Prosper, which is also outside of Dallas, has seen an 81 percent growth of residents over that time frame, according to the study.

Of the top 30 fastest growing wealthy suburbs in the US, Texas is home to seven - the most of any state.

These also include Flower Mound, Southlake, University Park and Colleyville.

In Fulshear, residents have a median income of $178,398 - far above the national average.

Plus, in a suburb where many people own their homes, the average home value is $521,157.

In Celina, meanwhile, the average home value is higher at $611,512, and even higher in Prosper at $823,356.

Following the top three Texan suburbs on the list is Erie, Colorado.

Erie, a plains town which is located just outside of Boulder and close to Denver, saw a population increase of 39 percent between 2018 and 2023.

In the suburb, the typical resident has an income of $163,644, and the average home is worth $744,217.

Fifth on the list is Clarksburg, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C., where the population grew by 24 percent over those five years.

In Clarksburg, the average home is worth $666,722, and the median household income is $178,641.

Erie, a plains town which is located just outside of Boulder and close to Denver, saw a population increase of 39 percent between 2018 and 2023

Fifth on the list is Clarksburg, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C.

California, meanwhile, boasts the second-highest number of growing wealthy suburbs, according to the study, at five.

These are Dublin, Eastvale, San Ramon, El Dorado Hills and North Tustin.

In order to determine which suburbs made the list, GOBankingRates analyzed places with populations between 25,000 and 100,000. It used the American Community Survey Census to determine each city's percentage change in population.

It comes after a county known for its citrus groves was named the fastest growing in the US.

Last year, almost 30,000 people moved to Polk County, Florida, which is located between Tampa and Orlando.

This was the largest influx of incoming residents in any county in America, according to the US Census Bureau.

The so-called 'citrus capital' produces more boxes of citrus than any other county in Florida, and has devoted tens of thousands of acres to growing millions of trees.

But orange groves are now being bulldozed to make room for housing and big box stores as people arrive in their droves.

And some residents are willing to commute for as long as an hour and a half to major cities nearby, in order to live in the area.

The migration and property sprawl reflects a significant kind of growth seen over the last decade - to far-flung so-called 'exurbs' - rather than closer suburbs.
