Samsung reveals next-gen Galaxy Tab tablets and Smart Tag

The biggest tech announcement events of 2026 may have come and gone, but Samsung is making sure the news doesn't stop.

The Korean tech giant announced refreshes of two of its product lines on Wednesday morning: The Galaxy Tab S12 tablet series and the Smart Tag 3 Bluetooth tracker. Between the two new tablets and the next-generation tracker, all three products will be available this fall. Here's everything you need to know about them.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 specs and price

First up are the two new tablets, the Galaxy Tab S12+ and S12 Ultra. There does not seem to be a base S12 this year, and S12+ and Ultra models both seem pretty similar outside of a few key specs. These tablets both come in gray and silver colorways. The Galaxy Tab S12+ starts at $1,199, and the S12 Ultra starts at $1,399. It should be noted that the S12+ is the only model that can optionally support a 5G connection. Both are available on Oct. 7.

The S12+ has a 12.6-inch display with 1,600 nits peak brightness and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. Meanwhile, the S12 Ultra carries those same display specs into a larger 14.6-inch panel. Both devices have Samsung's Armor Aluminum material protection and are IP68 rated. You'll get the same MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor in both tablets, as well.

Samsung is promising up to 23 hours of video playback and fast charging that should get you from zero to 100 percent in around 95 minutes. As usual, you'll get an S-Pen stylus in the box, as well as free trials of Photoshop, Google AI Pro, and Notability to make the most out of that stylus.

Similar to many of its other recent products, Samsung is incorporating Galaxy AI features into these tablets. Features like Now Nudge are present and accounted for, but since it's a tablet, you can also do three-way splitscreen with different apps for maximum multitasking efficiency. There's also a dedicated, programmable Galaxy AI key on the hardware itself this year, which can activate any AI assistant you choose.

Samsung Smart Tag 3 specs and price

Secondarily to the new tablets, Samsung also revealed Smart Tag 3, the third take on Samsung's in-house Bluetooth tracker. They come in black and white colors, and you can get one for $29.99 or four for $99.99. Smart Tag 3 is slated for launch in early November.

It's 35 percent smaller and 33 percent lighter than Smart Tag 2, per Samsung. I got to briefly get my hands on one, and even though I haven't ever used a Smart Tag 2, I can still tell you that the new ones are compact enough to fit just about anywhere you might need to put them. Samsung has enhanced the range of Compass View to up to 200 feet, making it easier to track down a lost item with your phone. You can also allegedly get up to 550 days of battery life on default settings.

Lastly, Smart Tag 3 has cross-OS support, so whether you're on Android or iOS, the product will work for you.
