A former top-ranking female San Francisco cop and her daughter were allegedly shot dead by her police sergeant husband before he turned the gun on himself in an affluent California county, according to reports.

Kevin Mannix, 68, is understood to have murdered former San Francisco Deputy Chief of Police Ann Mannix, 65, and their 24-year-old daughter, Katie, at a home in Marin County on Sunday night.

He then killed himself.

Deputies who responded to the scene after 5 p.m. found all three dead inside the home.

City police officers announced the deaths Sunday night. Chief Derrick Lew wrote a department-wide message saying that the agency was sharing the news “with heavy hearts.”

“Please keep their family in your prayers,” he continued.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately release what led to the shooting.

Shots were fired in a community called Strawberry Circle, which is an unincorporated area of Strawberry east of Mill Valley, according to a press release.
