In a new five-part series, Megyn Kelly Investigates: The Disappearance of Baby Lisa, Megyn takes a deep dive into a story that captivated and horrified America.
Lisa Irwin was just 10 months old when she vanished from her crib in her Kansas City, Missouri, home in the early morning of October 4, 2011. The case has never been solved but has stuck with Megyn since she first covered it at Fox News some 13 years ago.
“As you are going to see throughout this series, I covered this story myself as it happened back in 2011 and then in the many years thereafter,” Megyn shared. “I remember at the time I first got sent to Kansas City, Missouri, I had my own baby girl in a crib at home, and just couldn’t fathom what it would be like to go in to check on her in the middle of the night or go get her in the morning and see an empty crib.”

Speaking to Lisa’s parents at the time was “a before and after moment” for Megyn as a mother and a journalist, which is why she wanted to revisit the case all these years later. “Since we launched The Megyn Kelly Show, I decided to take this on with my own resources and to devote countless hours to figuring out what happened to this baby, with the help of some producers and very talented investigators,” Megyn shared.
The investigative team includes familiar faces to Megyn Kelly Show viewers – Bill Stanton, former NYPD, and Phil Houston, former CIA and “the human lie detector.” That moniker was put to the test in the immediate aftermath of Lisa’s disappearance and again in this series.
Over the course of the last three years, Megyn has re-interviewed all the key players in the case and spoken to critical new ones, some of whom have never before been interviewed by anybody other than law enforcement.
While this series does not wrap up with an arrest, Megyn said she “uncovered quite a bit” and “may have gotten to the truth of what happened.” Regardless, you will no doubt be left with theories of your own.
