Thomas Haden Church has joined the second season of Shane Gillis’ comedy series “Tires” at Netflix.

The show was renewed for Season 2 back in May ahead of the first season’s Netflix debut. Gillis self-financed the six-episode first season of “Tires,” with Netflix acquiring the show as part of a deal that included him getting another stand up special at the streamer. That special is also expected to debut in 2025.

Church will star in the show alongside Steven Gerben, Gillis, Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox, and Stavros Halkias. The official logline for Season 2 states, “After the unexpected success of their big marketing idea, Will (Gerben) and Shane (Gillis) rush to grow personally and professionally without fully realizing the cost of doing business.”

Church will star in the show as Phil, described as “Shane’s wealthy but immature father. A grown-up version of Shane, Phil enjoys owning various businesses in Florida where he resides, throwing back margaritas and flirting with waitresses.”

Church’s recent TV credits include the “Twisted Metal” series at Peacock and “Divorce” at HBO, while he had early breakout success in his career with his role in the show “Wings.” He received an Oscar nomination for best supporting actor for his role in “Sideways,” and is known for his roles in other films like “The Peanut Butter Falcon,” “Max,” “Spider-Man 3,” and “Easy A.”

He is repped by CAA, FINLEY Management, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

“Tires” Season 2 is slated to debut in 2025. Gillis co-created the series along with Gerben and John McKeever. All three serve as executive producers, with McKeever also directing. Brandon James executive produces via Rough House along with Brian Stern and Kenneth Slotnick for AGI Entertainment Media & Management as well as Becky Astphan.
