A shuttle bus at Hong Kong International Airport hit the bottom of an aircraft wingtip, causing a Shandong Airlines flight to Jinan city in mainland China to be delayed by seven hours at the weekend.

A video uploaded on Sunday to Douyin, mainland China’s video-sharing platform, showed a passenger bus moving on the airport apron as the vehicle’s roof collided with and scraped against the bottom of the plane’s wingtip.

The bus reversed after the collision while the wing continued flapping up and down, with the video showing “Shandong Airlines” written on the aircraft’s body.

The user who posted the video wrote: “The wing was broken. We had to wait for the repair during the daytime and it was not fixed until midnight. Do you dare to get on this plane?”

The Post has contacted the Airport Authority for more details.

Another user shared the video on social media platform Threads on Monday, with one person commenting that the flight had been delayed for seven hours.
