Spain’s Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has been branded a “traitor” and a “dog” over his handling of the Ceuta migrant crisis by Vox Party leader Santiago Abascal.
In an explosive parliamentary session, the opposition leader sparred with his opponent amid national outrage after 80,000 African migrants stormed the Spanish city.
In July, a horde of invaders swarmed Ceuta’s modest border protections and illegally entered the small Spanish exclave found on Morocco’s Mediterranean coast.
Exchanging furious barbs, Mr Abascal slammed the Prime Minister as a “dog” and asked if he was being “blackmailed” by Morocco over the crisis.
“I will be a dog, but I have no master,” Mr Sanchez shot back.
As the debate pressed on, the Vox leader then held up sheets of paper one by one, which spelt out “traidor” - traitor in Spanish.
Earlier, Mr Abascal claimed the Spanish Prime Minister was: “At the service, like a lackey, of the Moroccan regime”.
Thousands of the migrants who broke into Ceuta have now been returned to Morocco. However, many remain in the small Spanish exclave living in tent cities.

Just days after the Spanish Prime Minister insisted Morocco was not responsible for the crisis, a police report was published accusing security forces in the North African state of “total permissiveness”.
Communications within Spain’s National Intelligence Centre (CNI) also showed authorities warning of “an assault on the fence and by sea” a day before the surge took place.
“There are two different groups with a total of 180,000 followers. To give you an idea of its scale,” the now-declassified WhatsApp message said, per the Associated Press.
Daily protests have spread across Spain after the invasion, with demonstrators calling for Mr Sanchez's resignation.

Last week, Conservative Partido Popular (PP) leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo addressed a crowd of 50,000 protestors in Madrid.
“A Spanish city has been invaded, occupied, and, unfortunately, this happened with the knowledge of the Government of Spain,” he said.
Thousands also took to the streets in Ceuta, with demonstrators chanting: "Ceuta is not for sale, Ceuta must be defended."
