Storm Bert live: Month’s worth of rainfall in 48 hours

Storm Bert has brought more than 80 per cent of November’s average monthly rainfall in less than 48 hours as 70mph winds continue to cause disruption across the UK.

Flights have been cancelled and trees have fallen on railway lines causing lengthy delays for commuters. 

Around 350,000 homes have lost power so far as gusts tore down power lines, though most have been reconnected.

Homes and cars in Wales are underwater and more than 100 flood warnings and alerts have been issued across the country, with bridges shut and roads closed.

Police have launched a major search for a dog walker who went missing next to the river Conwy near the village of Trefriw.

The man, in his 70s, was last seen around 4.30 pm on Saturday with his wife and dog wearing a red waterproof jacket.
