A cold front is expected to move across the coast of Guangdong around midnight on Tuesday, with Hong Kong temperatures set to gradually decrease over the coming days.
The Hong Kong Observatory said an associated “intense” northeast monsoon would bring a few showers across Guangdong, adding winds in the city would strengthen and morning temperatures would fall to as low as 14 degrees Celsius (57.2 Fahrenheit) starting on Tuesday.
“A cold front will move across the coast of Guangdong around midnight,” the forecaster said on Monday.
“Under the persistent influence of the associated intense northeast monsoon and its replenishment, temperatures will fall progressively over the coast of Guangdong in the next couple of days, and the weather will become fine and dry.”
The Observatory reminded residents that the temperature difference between day and night would be rather big over inland areas.
According to the Observatory’s latest nine-day forecast, the mercury will gradually increase with sunny weather over the weekend.
