The best and worst countries in which to survive an apocalypse were listed in a new study — taking into account population, geographical features and the abundance of human necessities.

The most desirable spots to weather the end of the world will be remote, bountiful in food and energy sources and have a competent government that can hold it together when times are tight, according to a study published in the journal Global Challenge.

According to experts, survivalists would also be best to avoid urban areas, which are prone to becoming “death traps” in the event of all-out armageddon. 

Taking those factors into account, the study found that Australia — particularly the state of Tasmania — is “likely the most resilient place on Earth.”

That’s due to the country’s remoteness, bountiful amount of energy-producing minerals and high food production, The Times of London reported.

Florian Jehn, a professor at Goethe University Frankfurt who led the study, said that those wanting to live through the end of the world should avoid a place like Russia.

“It is a top nuclear target, and it scores poorly on governance, inequality and corruption. Those are the factors that matter most and are hard to change,” Jehn told the outlet.

Experts also said that those looking to weather the end of the world would be taking a chance by sticking it out in a nation like Britain. 

Britain’s relative isolation as an island gives it protection, and its healthcare system is useful in a pandemic, according to the study. 

But the UK country is still a nuclear target and is in a part of the world prone to bad space weather, which would make technology all but useless in an apocalyptic scenario. 

While Australia got high marks for doomsday preppers, the study did point out some flaws — including floods and bushfires.

Additionally, the down under’s remoteness from the rest of the world would eventually become as much of a boon as a bane, as almost any thriving society would eventually need contact with the outside world.

Despite offering up attractive locales to sweat out a catastrphic disaster, researchers gave a grim, and blunt, warning.

“There is truly no place to hide,” they said.
