Gwen Stefani was branded 'unrecognizable' by fans over her dramatic new look on the latest episode of The Voice

The 55-year-old singer returned to the show as a coach on Monday's Battles round, but it was her hairstyle that stole the show.

The No Doubt star ditched her signature icy platinum strands and rocked warm blonde wavy tresses with prominent bangs framing her face.

She paired the look with a bright yellow sunflower dress and picture-perfect makeup.

Following the episode, fans flooded social media with discussions about Gwen's surprising hairstyle choice, with one writing: 'Please Gwen the blonde wig (mop) looks AWFUL.'

'Gwen fire your stylist... that wig w/the bangs does nothing at all for you,' another added.

'Gwen's wig is making me mad,' someone else chimed in.

'Oh Gwen. That wig.'

'Gwen couldn't get a better wig?' yet another commentator questioned.

'You don't even look like Gwen Stefani. I miss Gwen Stefani,' another fan wrote.

She debuted the sunny new hairstyle on Season 26 of the musical talent competition.

Battle Rounds are a crucial stage in The Voice, where contestants from each team are paired up to sing a duet together. The coach then chooses the contestant they believe performed better to advance to the Knockout Rounds.

During the episode, Gwen teamed up a pair of teens - 19-year-old Sloane Simon with 15-year-old Sydney Sterlace.

They both were given the Billie Eilish song Birds of a Feather, with Gwen realizing in rehearsals it would be a tough decision as well.

She ultimately chose Sydney, but the remaining three judges - Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire and Michael Buble used their Steal on Sloane, who chose Buble.

Snoop put two duos together to battle, with fans getting a first glimpse at his coaching style, and they were quite impressed.

The hip hop star kicked off the show by pitting Gail Bliss and Christina Eagle together to sing Gretchen Wilson's Redneck Woman and later he picked Mikayla Ayira and Eliza Pryor to sing Vanessa Carlton's A Thousand Miles.

Many were impressed, taking to social media, with some claiming he's the best judge in the show's long history.

While none of Snoop's singers were stolen after elimination, there were two huge steals to kick off the Battle Rounds.

Snoop realized quickly how difficult the Battle Rounds will be after their performance, admitting picking one over the other was going to 'break my heart.'

After channeling his 'gangster Holy Ghost,' he ultimately picked the 23-year-old Christina over the 61-year-old Gail.

Gail wasn't stolen by any of the other judges after the performance so she was sent home.

Buble paired up 18-year-old Kiara Vega with 20-year-old Mor Ilderton, to sing Iris from Goo Goo Dolls.

Michael realized the song wasn't in either of their 'lanes' with Mor admitting he'd never harmonized before.

The judge ultimately picked Kiara, after insisting the decision was 'impossible,' even giving Mor his personal phone number... before Stefani swooped in to steal.

Also moving forward was Kendall Eugene from Team Reba, who she picked over Alison Elena after they sang Bring On the Rain by Jo Dee Messina and Tim McGraw.

Jan Dan was chosen by Stefani over Jaylen Dunham, as Jan Dan had to leave right after because his wife was due that day with their first child.

The Voice returns Tuesday, October 22 at 8 PM ET on NBC.
