Bowen Yang, Lily Gladstone, Kelly Marie Tran, and Han Gi-Chan lead an all-star cast in The Wedding Banquet, a remake of Ang Lee's 1993 romantic comedy that we frankly can't wait to see.

Directed and co-written by Fire Island's Andrew Ahn with Lee's co-writer James Schamus, the film centres on a group of friends, two couples, each with major life hurdles ahead of them — and one brilliant scheme that spins out of control.

Killers of the Flower Moon Oscar-winner Gladstone and The Last Jedi star Tran play Angela and Lee, lesbians who are struggling with their IVF journey and its towering costs. Meanwhile, Wicked star Yang and Our Song's Han Gi-Chan play gay couple Chris and Min, who are navigating differing levels of commitment and Min's looming visa expiry.

For the ultimate win-win, the four decide on a deal: Min and Angela will get a green card marriage if Min and Chris will pay for Angela and Lee's IVF expenses. But then Min's grandmother (Pachinko and Minari screen legend and Oscar-winner Youn Yuh-jung) arrives to plan the banquet, the wedding scheme levels up in stress, extravagance, and comedic potential.

The Wedding Banquet hits cinemas on April 18.
