Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are considering leaving their fire-ravaged neighbourhood for good despite their $26million home surviving the heartbreaking devastation.

The Hollywood couple’s Pacific Palisades mansion narrowly avoided the raging LA wildfire which has wreaked unimaginable havoc on the beloved celeb enclave and surrounding areas.

Despite feeling ‘blessed’, Tom and Rita, both 68, are now struggling with ‘survivors guilt’ and do not know if they want to remain in the area.

‘Tom Hanks is dealing with a form of Survivor's guilt as his home is currently unscathed.’ An insider told DailyMail.com exclusively.

‘He knows that he still isn't out of the woods, and he feels terrible about all his neighbors and friends who have lost everything while his place is still standing.

‘They don’t know how they will wrap their heads around this.’

The Pacific Palisades mansion (pictured), which the couple bought in 2010, narrowly avoided the raging LA wildfire which has wreaked unimaginable havoc on the beloved celeb enclave

The couple's 4,513 square-foot property was situated just far enough away from their nearest neighbor, whose home was completely destroyed by fire.

There was no debris visible on Tom's roof or on his spacious backyard patio in images obtained by DailyMail.com.

The double Academy-Award winner purchased the four-bedroom, five-bathroom abode with his longtime wife in 2010 but they do not yet know if they will return for good.

‘They feel blessed that their home is still standing but they haven't decided what they are going to do next,' the insider continued.

‘It would be very weird to stay once all the dust settles in a place surrounded by nobody, but those decisions will be made in the weeks and months to come.’

It is unclear if the couple's Malibu home is unscathed.

As of Friday, more than 180,000 Los Angeles residents have had to evacuate their homes after five wildfires erupted across the Southern California landscape earlier this week.

The most destructive blaze in the county's history also destroyed more than 10,000 structures and left roughly 400,000 customers statewide without power.

On Tuesday, Tom's son Chet Hanks told fans to 'pray' for his Pacific Palisades neighborhood (pictured together in December 2023)

Many A-list celebrities including Anthony Hopkins, Heidi Montag, Adam Brody and John Goodman were among those who watched as their multi-million dollar mansions were reduced to ash with little to no time to save their belongings. Billy Crystal and his wife Janice lost their home of 45 years.

Britney Spears said she spent 'four hours' on the road driving to a hotel after fleeing her Thousand Oaks home, while Paris Hilton watched her Malibu beach house 'burn to the ground on live TV.'

The heiress, 43, was in 'complete shock' as she made an emotional return to the property on Thursday to find charred remains.

Dua Lipa and Take That star Mark Owen and his family are among a cohort of British stars who have been forced to flee, or have lost their homes.

Like Tom, it has been a more fortunate state of affairs for celebrities including Kate Hudson, who has two properties in Pacific Palisades, who have managed to narrowly avoid the destruction.

Tom and Rita's son Chet, 34, was among those voicing their heartbreak at the horrifying scenes as he asked people to 'pray' for his former neighborhood.

'The neighborhood I grew up in is burning to the ground rn [right now],' he wrote on Instagram. 'Pray for Palisades.'

Celebrities living in nearby Hidden Hills and Calabasas - the home of the Kardashians - have also been asking people to pray in the wake of a new apocalyptic, fast-moving inferno, named the Kenneth Fire, which is threatening to rip through the desirable neighbourhoods.

The latest blaze was allegedly caused by an arsonist, who was apprehended by police on Thursday night.

Khloe Kardashian, whose famous family has donated $2,500 worth of meals to first responders, blasted the individual on Instagram as she shared a clip from News Nation.

'You sick mother f**kers!' the 40-year-old mother-of-two wrote. 'What the f**k is wrong with people?!?! Arson!!!! May you be fully prosecuted!!! What scum!!!'

Her sister Kim Kardashian's former hairstylist Jen Atkin has lost her house in the blaze.
