Trucker Arrested in South Carolina Highway Bomb Threat Is Non-Citizen Under Deportation Proceedings

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued a detainer for a truck driver who was arrested after allegedly making a bomb threat while pulled over on I-85 in South Carolina this week, indicating he may be in the country illegally.
The busy interstate was shut down for hours on Thursday afternoon after South Carolina State Transport Police pulled over an 18-wheeler with a missing license plate in Greenville County.
During the stop, the driver reportedly claimed there was an explosive device hidden somewhere in the big rig.
“I-85 near mile marker 44 is temporarily closed out of an abundance of caution due to a bomb threat issued during a routine traffic stop this afternoon by SC Transport Police,” Gov. Henry McMaster’s office explained in a statement posted to social media at the time.
Following a SWAT raid and sweep by a bomb squad, it was determined the driver had been lying.
The suspect was taken into custody and identified as Ahmad Jamal Khamees Alhendi, a 28-year-old resident of Oak Lawn, Illinois.
He now faces multiple charges, including breach of peace of a high or aggravated nature, bomb threat, and operating an unregistered vehicle.
Additionally, ICE has lodged a detainer against Khamees Alhendi, indicating he is a non-citizen of undisclosed origin and immigration status.
“Arrest warrant for pendency of ongoing removal proceedings,” a note in his booking information reads.
“Officials mentioned that the tractor-trailer was registered to Globe Transportation out of Illinois. The company said they do not have a statement at this time, however, they did say that Alhendi was cleared to drive and that the truck was registered,” Fox Carolina reports.
Khamees Alhendi’s bond was set at $20,238 cash during a hearing on Friday.

The federal government needs to impose absolutely ruinous fines are employers and landlords who do business with illegals. No way should any of these people have a job or housing. US citizens who provide jobs or housing to illegals should be driven into bankruptcy. Someone ought to suddenly become a guy who “used to own trucking company”.
