A popular true crime podcaster complained that “60 Minutes” offered Patrick Clancy a softball interview after the grieving dad granted his first sit-down since his ex-wife’s trial for killing their three kids ended in a hung jury.
“Point blank, that is probably the worst interview I’ve seen in a long time,” Briana Whitney, a contributor for the “Crime Junkie Podcast,” blasted in a now viral TikTok video.
While speaking with journalist Ross Douthat, Clancy and Rachel Danis, a NYC fertility doc whom he married earlier this year, revealed they were starting their own family and expressed their excitement about sharing memories of Clancy’s first children – Cora, 5; Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan – with his future ones.
Whitney complained that the couple’s pregnancy announcement was “the only actual new piece of information we really learned” during the interview, she said in the TikTok clip.
However, “Patrick wasn’t really asked anything by the host of actual substance…Literally any of the questions you had – not answered, not asked,” she said.
Patrick Clancy has been the subject of bizarre and vicious conspiracy theories from across the “true crime” social media spectrum. Some wackos have even claimed that Lindsay Clancy didn’t actually kill her kids — despite her admission in court — and that Patrick was responsible.
The podcaster also complained that the interviewer failed to dig deeper into Clancy and Danis’s love story.
Following Danis’ brief explanation that the duo met while running in New York City — where Clancy relocated soon after his children’s murders in January 2023 — “We just hear that they’re like living happily ever after, they’re having a child and we, like, moved right along with the interview – like, there were no other questions there,” Whitney seethed.
