The family of a Wisconsin man shot dead by a group of teenagers shared chilling details surrounding his murder as they demand his killers be brought to justice.
David Krause, 35, was shot dead in a Milwaukee alley in April while he was out celebrating a local holiday.
Police said Krause had caught a ride from a group of teenagers, but was chased out of the car and gunned down as they attempted to rob him.
Three teenagers, including two 16-year-olds, were arrested and charged in connection with his death.
Krause's family told the Daily Mail they are demanding his killers be tried as adults as they revealed the horrific details of his death.
'My son was out with friends, and they got separated. It was down pouring,' his mother, Diane Krause, said.
'He ran to a gas station to get some shelter from the rain, and saw this younger person, and just said, "Hey, can I get a ride home?"'
His father, Kevin Krause, added that his son was a kind-hearted individual and extremely trusting.

'He just loved people and cared for people, and he would do pretty much anything. I think this is what ultimately led to his demise. He just said, "Oh they’re some kids," and boy was he mistaken,' he said.
The grieving mother explained authorities have surveillance footage that allegedly shows three people jumping out of the car and chasing Krause down an alley.
'At which point, they assaulted him, tried to rob him, which he had a cell phone and maybe $20 in his pocket, and shot him,' she said.
Kevin noted that the murder took place while the sun was setting and happened in a popular area.
'This was at dusk, 7.30 at night. This is not at 2am. This is not bar time or some silly thing. This was in one of the biggest upcoming areas in Milwaukee. This was not in a dangerous area,' he said.
'You could literally be out getting ice cream with your husband and kids because there’s an ice cream place one block away and be gunned down and robbed. You would not ever anticipate danger in this area.
'He was running out of a car in an area that is highly regarded as one of the best upcoming areas in Milwaukee. That in itself is frightening to me.'
The Krause family is demanding that the suspected killers, who have not been named due to their age, be held accountable.

'We've been fighting to be heard. We haven't been able to talk at any of these hearings. We've only been able to be listeners,' Diane said.
Earlier this month, Judge Milton Childs ordered that one of the 16-year-old suspects who allegedly had a criminal record would be tried in juvenile court, WISN reported.
However, the judge appeared to have a different option for the other 16-year-old and ruled on Thursday that that individual, who also has a criminal record, will be tried as an adult.
'I think this is a common occurrence that happens a lot, where these juveniles are given another shot in the hopes of rehabbing them,' Diane said.
'It’s just so hard. I think it's important that we shed some light on it, and the appalling decisions being made in the juvenile court.'
The third suspect is due in court for a wavier hearing next month.
The Daily Mail contacted the Milwaukee District Attorney's Office for comment.
