Two police officers were among “multiple victims” injured in a shooting in downtown Minneapolis on Wednesday, officials said.
The shooting reportedly occurred near an apartment building on East Grant Street just before 5 p.m. local time.
Minneapolis Police Department officers respond to the area of 15 East Grat Street near the Minneapolis Convention Center after multiple people, including two police officers, were shot on Sept. 2, 2026, in Minneapolis. A shooter was located and one person was taken into custody, according to an alert sent out by the University of St. Thomas. KARE 11“The Minneapolis Police Department is on the scene of a shooting in the area of 15 E Grant St. involving multiple victims, including two police officers,” read a statement from the City of Minneapolis’ X account.
Law enforcement urged the public to avoid the area as they investigate.
