Valorant’s new map Summit has finally been revealed by Riot Games, giving players a mountain-set battleground with droppable walls that can reshape rounds.
The new map launches with Season 2026 // Act 4 on June 24, alongside a new 3v3 Retake mode, the Blackspyre skin collection, and a fresh Battlepass.
Riot had already confirmed that Valorant’s next map would be shown during Masters London, with the announcement video offering only a brief look at the arena under the codename Plummet. Now, the map has an official name, setting, release date, and full gameplay details.
Summit is a 5v5 map set in a Radiant training academy located in the mountains of China. Riot says the academy helps Radiants from around the world better understand their powers, with state-of-the-art facilities built to handle Radiant abilities.
The location also has a major lore connection, as Riot says Summit was formerly the site of the Radiant monastery where Sage studied before joining Valorant.
Summit brings droppable walls to Valorant
Summit features two Spike sites, a three-lane layout, and three droppable walls located on A site, B site, and Mid.
These walls are the map’s biggest gameplay twist. Once dropped, they cut off key sightlines and rotation paths for the rest of the round, giving teams a new way to permanently change how a round plays out.
That means players will need to think carefully before activating them, as a wall could help lock down a site, isolate part of the map, or make a retake far more difficult.
Summit will also be available in Competitive queue immediately when it launches on June 24. To encourage players to learn the map without fear of deranking too harshly, Riot is reducing RR losses by 50% for losses on Summit during its first two weeks in Competitive. Wins will still award 100% RR.
A Summit Only queue will also be available for seven days, using the Swiftplay format for players who want to practice the map in shorter matches.
Valorant Act 4 adds Retake mode and new Battlepass
Season 2026 // Act 4 also introduces Retake, a new fast-paced 3v3 mode built around Valorant’s post-plant scenarios.
In Retake, the Spike is already planted at the start of each round. One team spawns on site as the Planters and must defend the Spike, while the other spawns outside the bomb site as the Retakers and must defuse or eliminate the defenders.
Teams swap sides every round, and the first team to five rounds wins. The mode also uses a randomized loadout system, with players choosing two cards each round: one for weapons and armor, and one for ability charges. Both pools escalate as the match progresses.
Retake will use single bomb sites from existing maps, with Riot saying the curated map pool will grow throughout the Act.
Act 4 will also bring the Blackspyre Collection, a sci-fi and mystical skinline featuring the Phantom, Sheriff, Spectre, Ares, and a new melee weapon called Divide.
The new Battlepass costs 1,000 VP. Free track highlights include the Sky Reaper Ghost, Heal Up Squad Card, Binding Thread Buddy, and On Your Feet Spray. Paid track items include the Sky Reaper Sword melee, Tacti-Guild Phantom, Intertwine Guardian, Boom Ball Flex, Unstoppable // Iso Card, Soft and Deadly Card, Blep Spray, Unimpressed Spray, and Prooooowler Buddy.
Season 2026 // Act 4 goes live on June 24.
