Harrowing video shows a beauty influencer being swept to her death in a flash flood in Brazil as onlookers desperately try to rescue her with a ladder.

Jennifer Soares Martins — a 28-influencer known as Jhei Soares — and her husband Wallison Lima were spotted clinging to a car for their lives in waist-deep waters in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais during the early hours of Sunday, CNN Brazil reported.

Video of the tragedy shows several people leaning out of a window and holding an extended ladder which is not quite long enough to reach the pair.

Martins and Lima — who had leaped out of the car after crashing during the flash flood — initially try to use the vehicle to shield them from the torrent as the ladder remains painfully out of reach.

But the flow is so strong it eventually moves their car, which is seen drifting out of view as the couple desperately try to cling on.

Martins was later found dead, while her husband somehow managed to survive, officials said.

“I just wanted her back,” he wrote with several crying emojis on social media later Sunday.

Lima and Martins had been married for eight years and together for over 14. The two frequently made posts about their trips and family celebrations.

Martins has over 82,000 followers on Instagram and often posted videos of her outfits, shopping hauls, and life in Brazil. Her comments have since been flooded with users grieving her sudden, tragic death.

Despite the rain and flooding conditions that led the young beauty influencer to her death, the government insists the conditions in Uberlandia are now under control and the rain conditions in the region have been closely monitored.

Martins’ Instagram comments are now flooded with users expressing their grief and shock at the influencer’s death. NX

“We inform you that the situation in the city of Uberlândia is under control. Electricity, water supply, internet, and telephone services have not been affected. There are no isolated communities or blocked highways,” the Government stated to the outlet.
