Wells Fargo fires ‘Cornell 7’ frat bro accused of raping, drugging former student after probe is reopened

One of the seven Cornell students being reinvestigated over shocking allegations of a gang rape has lost his job at a North Carolina bank, according to a report.

Diego Sarabia is no longer employed at the Charlotte branch of Wells Fargo where he had worked since 2022, according to TMZ, which said his termination was directly connected to the announcement Monday that a new investigation has been launched.

Sarabia is one of the so-called “Cornell 7” – a group of alumni and fraternity members cited in the civil suit by accuser Jane Doe, who claims she was drugged and sexually assaulted at the Chi Phi frat house in October 2024.

The suit claims Doe had been drinking at a local bar – despite being underage – before ending up at the fraternity house, where she says she was drugged with the prescription anaesthetic and sexually assaulted for hours by multiple men.

The Tompkins County District Attorney’s Office initially did not file charges when the incident was first reported. However, the DA announced Monday that he has reopened the investigation and plans to present the findings to a grand jury.
