Kelly Clarkson has been absent from “The Kelly Clarkson Show” for a week with different celebrities filling in for her as hosts.
Even though she hosted her daily talk show on March 4 and March 5, the “Stronger” singer has primarily been missing in action since Feb. 27.
Neither Clarkson nor her show’s reps have shared where she has been or the reason for her absence.
At the time of publishing, the Grammy winner, 42, is scheduled to return for the show’s March 18, March 20 and March 21 episodes, per the show’s weekly listing.
Viewers initially began to question Clarkson’s whereabouts during the March 3 show when Simu Liu stepped in and admitted that he found out about the gig “five minutes” before he walked onto the stage.
“Kelly actually isn’t able to make it today,” he said at the time. “We are sending her our very best, and here’s the thing –– I did not know that I was doing this until about five minutes ago when I arrived here to promote my new movie, ‘Last Breath.'”
Before Liu substituted, Roy Wood Jr. took over hosting duties on Feb. 28. He also stepped in for the March 6 show.
Clarkson briefly returned to her hosting duties on March 4 and March 5, but it’s unclear when those episodes were recorded.
Wanda Sykes and Josh Groban co-hosted the March 7 show, when Sykes joked that the NBC show was having a “Hostapalooza.”
Brooke Shields kept the co-hosting going this week when she filled in for Clarkson on Monday and Tuesday.
“Sunday Today” host Willie Geist is slated to take over on Wednesday, and model Molly Sims will close out the week, hosting Thursday and Friday’s shows.
Clarkson is scheduled to return to her hosting duties for three days during the week of March 17, but Kal Penn and Andy Cohen will host the two shows she can’t do.
Shortly after “The Kelly Clarkson Show” released this week’s schedule of guest hosts via Instagram, viewers flooded the comments asking about Clarkson.
“I respect Kelly Clarkson’s privacy, but I am very concerned about her,” one user commented under the show’s scheduling post.
“We don’t need to know her business but need to know she is ok please 😢,” another person wrote.
“Where is Kelly? We are worried sick about her,” someone else asked.
“hey yall, you all need to understand this: kelly does not owe anyone an explanation for her absence. yall can worry all you want, she doesn’t have to tell anyone what’s going on, IF there’s anything going on,” another person pointed out.
Clarkson has been hosting the Emmy award-winning show since 2019 and is on track to hit her 1,000th episode on March 20.
When the “Because Of You” singer isn’t chatting with celebrities, she’s spending time with her kids –– daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remington “Remy” Alexander, 8 –– whom she shares with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.
