Whitney Fransway’s engagement ring has a solid gold backstory.
The “In the City” star, 35, gave Page Six a close look at her sparkler at the VRT Awards 2026 at New York City’s Edison Ballroom on Tuesday. As it turns out, the design started with her mother.
“My mom actually had a thicker gold band on her engagement ring until she redid it at 20 years [of] being married, so that was kind of what I had told him,” Fransway said on the red carpet alongside fiancé Kenny Martin. “But then he did the rest.”
Martin popped the question Sept. 19 in Anacapri, Italy, where the couple had celebrated Fransway’s birthday over dinner the summer before. But the real estate investor and venture capitalist, 42, managed to keep his plans under wraps.
“I was giving her the whole, ‘Hey, listen, we’re going to Capri. … Are you gonna be OK if it doesn’t happen? I just want you to be prepared,'” Martin told us.
“He threw me off for months,” Fransway said. “I thought it wasn’t gonna happen until the new year, so I was shocked.”
So shocked, in fact, that the “Bachelor” alum arrived at her proposal without a fresh manicure. “I didn’t even have my nails done,” she said. “I haven’t done that in six years.”
The ring, from New York City jeweler Material Good, features an elongated cushion-cut diamond on a thick yellow-gold band.
“She sent me a random message, like, six months ago, being like, ‘Just in case, this is what I’m looking for,” Martin said.
For the awards, Fransway matched it with a bridal white minidress: a Sau Lee lace-trimmed Ellen dress ($550).
Fransway shared photos and videos from the big moment on Instagram in the days after the proposal, writing, “THAT’S MY FIANCÉ! 🥹🤍”
Fellow “Bachelor” alums JoJo Fletcher, Rachael Kirkconnell and Vanessa Grimaldi sent their congratulations, as did “In the City” castmate Andrea Denver. “Siesta Key” star Juliette Porter weighed in on the bling, commenting, “Omg dream ring.”
As for a televised wedding, the pair told us it’s “TBD.” “I like having that moment be between us, but never say never,” Fransway said, with Martin adding, “We got to get Season 2 going first.”
The couple’s relationship took center stage on the Bravo series’ first season, which also followed Martin as he tracked down his estranged father after 25 years.
The Page Six VRT Awards 2026 is sponsored by Tri-State Cadillac, CoverGirl, Philo and Kahlúa.
